Last May 19, 2017 another milestone for the chapter has taken place at Intramuros Restaurant as the chapter elected its new set of officers for the upcoming Fiscal Year 2017 – 2018.
Having an attendees of over one hundred (100) chapter members, fifty-one (51) out of ninety-two (92) qualified chapter members to vote comprised the quorum which go signaled for the election to take place. The chapter’s Committee on Elections who mainly composed of Architects Jeffrey Lopez, Louise Mari Santiago, Artemio Valle, Jelyn Arela, and Robert Andre Maramag as the chairman, started the election process with a call for nominations (#yoUAPakoangsimula) which commenced last April and ended on the 5th of May. Members did not disappoint as nominations received by the COMELEC piled up showing how eager the members to start the coming fiscal year with enthusiasm.
On the remaining days before the election day, six (6) candidate emerged and accepted the call to serve once more the chapter (#yoUAPIkawangpagbabago). Incumbent Chapter President Jaime Tasarra Jr. is once again hailed as the incoming Chapter President. With him, familiar faces also appeared and was elected such as Arch. Rhea Jessica Mira for chapter Vice President for Operations, Arch. Maria Roma Sañez for chapter Secretary, and Arch. June Pamintuan for chapter Treasurer. Architects Ronrico Aragon and Bodderek Agustinne Almilla battled it out for chapter Auditor where the latter emerged victorious. The battle between the two is neck to neck, Arch. Almilla winning with three (3) more votes over Arch. Aragon.
With CPD talks currently circulating within the UAP, this coming fiscal year is a chance for this reliable Architects to prove to the members who chose them that they are indeed capable. Capable of providing quality programs and events for the members, capable of bringing back once more the idle members back to the chapter for active participation, and mostly, capable of uniting its chapter members to promote a professional organization that is moving forward into an asean integrated era.
We wish them all luck and may God bless us all!!!
